Laura is a pediatric Speech Language Pathologist who has practiced in New York and Michigan and specifically specializes in the language development of 0-5 year olds. Since middle school, Laura has taken a keen interest in the development of young children. She was a nanny throughout high school and college for a several families. Upon graduation, Laura was confident that she was meant to funnel her passion for the little tykes into her career as a speech language pathologist. Immediately after graduate school, Laura had the opportunity to work with New York City’s Early Intervention program. Servicing 0-3 year olds in their homes, the importance of parent education on activities and strategies to stimulate language development in conjunction with therapy was evident. Laura feels strongly that parents have the largest impact on their child’s development when educated on how to become their child’s therapist. Laura’s caseload has consisted of a variety of disorders that include receptive language delay, expressive language delay, language delays associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Developmental Delays, Childhood Apraxia of Speech and phonological processing disorders.
